MOUNTAIN GORILLA TREKKING

Gorilla trekking has fast emerged as one of the world’s top bucket list travel activities, and DR Congo happens to be among the few African countries that allows travellers to engage with endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. A face-to-face encounter with the mountain gorillas in Virunga National Park – which is a World Heritage Site – is often described as an awe-inspiring experience. This may be one of the greatest wildlife encounters on Earth owing to the fact that endemic primates like Grauer's gorillas, bonobos and silver-backed mountain gorillas are facing extinction and can only be found in the off-the-beaten-track tracks of DR Congo.
