A couple summers ago, during a trip thru northern Pakistan, I stayed at the Gilgit Serana Hotel for one night while heading south and again for another night on the return north. The hotel is quite large with many lounging areas, restaurants and a gift shop. The rooms are large and elegantly furnished. Internet access is available at no charge. Dinner is served in several of the restaurants or one can have an extensive buffet dinner outdoors under the stars. There are large gardens around the hotel, which also provide outstanding views of the Karakorum mountain range. Breakfast is buffet style served in the upper level restaurant, which in the morning provides majestic views of the Karakorum mountains. The hotel is completely fenced in for security and entry is thru zig-zag concrete barriers.

Has nice Garden including inhouse vegetable and fruit Garden. Rooms are clean and spacious. Bathroom had good accessories and clean. The Breakfast is inclusive and very nice. Staff is courteous and recommend for staying.

The place was very pleasant after a trip to mountains. Warm water and necessary stuff in the bathroom. View is exceptional - apt to the region. Friendly staff, nice food. Rooms are quiet and clean! City view at night and dawn is overwhelming. Parks to walk around are maintained with numerous fruits and flowers. Adds to the awesomeness. If you can afford - stay here!
