This was the best ever hotel experience our family had! We stayed at the Serena hotel in Zanzibar ( to adults, 3 kids). From the moment you step in you feel welcomed, seen and attended to. It’s a home away from home. Sunil, the chef who must be Zanzibar’s top chef can satisfy any palate. He is both personable, creative and makes each guest feel special.
Seldom have I tasted such great food with the staff being the most polite, warm and child friendly. Daniel, the manager with his calm and friendly demeanor makes each guest feel comfortable.
The rooms are classic with a beautiful view and atmosphere. Pool stunning.

The hotel is consisted of two historical buildings converted to the hotel. So it has lots of historical and cultural feel of Zanzibar and rooms are well appointed with the sense of history and cultural heritage of Zanzibar. It has great view over the Indian Ocean and is the great base to enjoy historical stone town, the UNESCO World cultural heritage. Hotel has a good bar and restaurant overlooking the ocean. We also appreciated attentive service by staffs.

Had a fabulous time staying the Serena Hotel Zanzibar the staff were so helpful and friendly and the views of the Dhows and the sunset were wonderful.
The hotel also set us up with a fantastic guide called Hamad who we would highly recommend as a guide for any of the various days trips or to visit the sights around Zanzibar or in and around Stone-town. He is so knowledgeable and has lots of very interesting information stories relating to Zanzibar.

Ali picked us uo at the airport and gave us a great introduction of Zanzibar and the language which was perfect. Staff among the best ever we met (we are aged +60), room spotlessly clean, sunset view astonishing, lobster and jumbo prawns for dinner at the top terrace unforgettable. Thanks for havimg us!

Spacious rooms with view of the ocean from every room and pool with walk way around the hotel makes it very attractive. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Front office manager Kurwa was very considerate in providing extra couple of hours to stay before we took a taxi to the airport. Smiling face of dining area supervisor Mfaume and unexpected live ban during lunch due to VIP visit added value and enjoyable atmosphere. Chef Sunil capped it all with wonderful preparations of vegetable and chicken delicacies to cap it all. Sunil made us feel at home with dishes to our liking with smiling service.
